seagulls enter my world with a force never seen before
the sky darkens as their presence overtakes the day
the sea underneath looks up...wonders
and the children stare, amused in their flight

a little white one stops by a rock,
wanting to find comfort on earth soil
pecking left and right hoping to find love
unknowingly just wasting its time

the mother bird leads with her nose
only half of the troupe follows her closely
the foolish and ambitious ones don't
they expect to find treasures on their own

should one be sad for the hungry gulls
or are they better than you and I

I go back and forth between names, often times letting people think I'm choosing baby names, but I'm not. I've been picking writing names all my life. I have entire notebooks with a variety of names. I've gone through my phases, much like people go through potato chip phases, I go through name phases. Nothing wrong with it. A name gives a character its personality, it helps you develop a good story, and it's easy to pair names together if they are right for one another. Could you ever imagine George & Juliet? That just sounds wrong, plain wrong. It could be from years of hearing the 'right' version, but I'm sure you'll agree that it doesn't have an easy flow to it. Anyways, I'm blabbing now.

The next thing I want to note is how sometimes when I'm walking somewhere, I feel as if I exist simultaneously in another world. I feel as if the things that are happening to me aren't real, aren't mine, they are temporary and I can do whatever with them, but in the end, I don't get to keep them. They've been lent to me. I wonder if God knows I feel this way. It certainly would help me if I found out.

Lastly, I wish I was in another world right now. Mine is getting stale, not predictable at all, just stale.

Richie clenched his fists. Georgie had managed to screw up his life once again. It's a wonder he could stand up and think all by himself. This nymph had him wrapped up in her little finger and wasn't planning to let go anytime soon. The problem was that he knew it, and he did not try to fight it. He just wished that she'd make up her mind and let him know, for better or worse. Meanwhile, he had to be supportive and cry late at night, cowering over his pillow, dreaming of better days.
George had cried a waterfall herself, but the clouds on her sky didn't seem so dark, more of a creamy color, or so she had convinced herself. Her soul though - it had turned a charcoal black filled with little lumps of disappointment, hurt, and a speckle of hope - she knew that too.
On the other side of the country, Tristan wasn't feeling stellar either. The world had just handed him a damn good excuse to clean up his life - yet, yet...yet he rolled his eyes at the thought.

she walks with her head bobbing to the sound of scattered music from the black ipod..wonders if anyone can hear the songs...wondering if anyone cares...wondering why she cares.
another long boring day in the country, she swears she's going to get out, as soon as she finishes reading that book about empowerment, as soon as she makes a list about where to go, as soon as she finds someone in the city, as soon as...
she's been making excuses for two years now, since bobby died. they were going to get their own farm and raise prize ponies, have lots of chickens and teach their children how to become upstanding citizens, and of course, to never eat any junk food. "if it doesn't grow or give birth, we can't eat it" - one's of bobby's prized quotations. his head would somehow get a little more upright everytime he'd say it to someone new...
now she just walks ups and down the country road, watching the new renters in the trailers, staring at ponies, thinking about whether she can grow a really big chicken one day. now she thinks about starting anew, perhaps forget all about the chickens and start a consulting business on how to raise prize ponies in the city. those rich kids would certainly like to get a pony for birthdays, she'd tell the parents how to care for them, and how to pick a good breed.
...anyday now, she's going to stop her ipod, stop listening to that one song over and over and over again, sit down and make a list... and then leave...until she can get her heart back.

I highly dislike the setup of my livejournal - the colors, the fonts, the layout. It's not working for me, but instead of changing them I'm going to see how much I can tolerate them. I'm going to keep it until my brain one day explodes and then I wont be able to look at them anymore. I guess it's a good thing that I don't blog often. I think I have so many friends and family members to complain to that I don't feel the need to blog as much, but then again, who will I able to tell my crazy adventures of not liking this blog? It's complicated, my friends, very complicated.

this rant was brought to you by: procrastinating for neuroscience - how my frontotemporal lobe is not doing its job properly and causing me to ...procrastinate! (well at least I know who does it and why)

I'm not sure how many of you (well like maybe one or two people who read this) but new country is really good. First you have these hot singers, men and women, like really hot, like way hotter than pop/rock/indie, I mean it's all there. Secondly, all these people can sing, all of them. You can't fake a strong country note, you either hit it or not, there's no faking there (*cough* britney, jessica, etc). Thirdly, all country singers know how to play at least an instrument, I don't think you can say that about a lot of new bands. And I know there are a million good bands out there who play instruments and all that, but what about New bands?

So I'll leave you with some meaningful lyrics from Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman's future house-husband, Aussie hottie, and a mean guitar player :)

Making memories of us !

I'm gonna be here for you baby
I'll be a man of my word
Speak the language in a voice that you have never heard
I wanna sleep with you forever
And I wanna die in your arms
In a cabin by a meadow where the wild beast swarm

And I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll earn your trust making memories of us

I wanna honor your mother
I wanna learn from your pa
I wanna steal your attention like a bad outlaw
I wanna stand out in a crowd for you
A man among men
I wanna make your world better than it's ever been

And I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll earn your trust making memories of us

We'll follow the rainbow
Wherever the four winds blow
And there'll be a new day
Comin' your way

I'm gonna be here for you from now on
This you know somehow
You've been stretched to the limits but it's alright now
And I'm gonna make you this promise
If there's life after this
I'm gonna be there to meet you with a warm, wet kiss
Yes I am

mmm odd
